Browsing and records on your device

Reading requires no sign-in. Your shelf, reading records, listening queue, playback positions and family plan are stored in your browser by default. Clearing browser data may remove them. Infrastructure serving pages and media processes necessary network information such as IP addresses and request times.

Parent accounts and sync

Cloud sync is offered only when the service is configured and a parent chooses to sign in. It processes the email address and the shelf, reading, listening and plan records selected for sync. Sign-in may use necessary session cookies. When cloud services are unavailable or not yet enabled, the interface shows local mode rather than claiming records have synced.

Children and family information

We do not offer child accounts or public comments. Parents should leave children’s real names, schools, addresses and other identifying details out of feedback, questions and recordings awaiting review. Parents should check family recordings and questions before deciding to make them public. User-submitted questions and discussion forums are not currently available.

AI, analytics and external services

Content production may use AI services to process topics and drafts. Private family recordings should be checked before use in public content. External reference sites and listening platforms handle information under their own policies. Analytics operate only if configured; this notice should be updated when the deployment adds third-party services.

Weekly story email

Weekly email subscriptions store the parent’s email, confirmed language, consent time and delivery status. Resend processes the address to deliver these emails. Subscription is separate from accounts and local reading records; no shelf or child information is required. Every digest includes an unsubscribe option.

Confirm your audio waitlist signup

The audio waitlist stores your adult email address, chosen interests, page language, entry point, related story ID and confirmation/consent records. Optional answers are limited to age range, listening language and occasion. We do not collect children’s names, exact birth dates or recordings here. We use this information for selected launch or trial invitations, separately from the weekly newsletter. The confirmation email includes an unsubscribe link; you may also contact us to request deletion.

Reading analytics

Reading analytics are on by default. PostHog and Google Analytics receive page paths, referral domains, language, a two-letter country code and reading/listening actions under anonymous browser identifiers. Cloudflare supplies the country code; no IP address is sent to PostHog. We do not send search queries, emails, form text or recordings to either service. Advertising signals, ad personalization, session replay and automatic click capture are disabled. You can turn analytics off and remove local analytics identifiers here at any time. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected.
