About us

Chinese history, myths and classic tales for kids

Dynasty Tales starts with family reading and the questions children ask. We retell Chinese history and myths as stories to read and discuss together. The shorter version follows the main events; the fuller version adds choices, context and differing accounts. Our catalogue also makes room for literary adaptations, with planned topics clearly labelled.

We use historical texts, archaeological material and research to write fresh retellings, rather than reproduce the prose or illustrations of modern books. Each story lists the sources used and distinguishes history, disputed details, legends and fiction. Dialogue and illustrations may reconstruct a scene; gaps in the evidence are not treated as known facts.

The interface is available in English, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Stories, translations, illustrations and recordings are reviewed separately and become available as they are completed. An interface language does not promise a translation or recording of every story. Drafts shown in local preview and planned catalogue entries are not approved publications.

🔍 Content & sources

AI can assist with organising research, drafting, translation and illustration. Automated checks, human review and final publication approval are recorded separately; an AI check is not expert verification or native-language review. Public content must pass review for its specific version. Read the references alongside the notes on history, legend and artistic reconstruction. Questions can grow through family reading; suggestions awaiting family discussion are labelled.
